This charcoal drawing of a brook trout to over 30 hours to create and was drawn using willow charcoal and compressed charcoal.

Fish drawings seem to come natural for me since I have been fishing for them as far back as I can remember. The brook trout is a favorite of mine mainly because they are plentiful here in Idaho. However I think the real reason is that I can get away from the crowds and just be alone along side a small steam with God and nature.

I seldom keep brook trout for table fair (although you can not beat the flavor when cooked over a campfire) as it seems to add something to the experience releasing them back into a stream where they have live
