The inspiration for this drawing of a rainbow trout came from an encounter I had with this nice Rainbow in a high Mountain Lake here in Idaho. While I never was able to entice him to strike my fly he continued to swim in and out from under a log that was floating just of shore. Since I could not get him to hit my fly I thought I would capture this memory in the drawing. It was amazing to see him even though he never would take a fly.
