This charcoal drawing was inspired by a very good friend’s cute and adorable Pekingese pup as he was sitting with his ball waiting for some one to come along and play. Being a pure white Pekingese it did present quite challenge that I did not anticipate. Trying to bring out the muscular shape and the flowing hair line while maintaining the white appearance, was to say the least vexing while at the same time exciting to work on.
This White Pekingese with his short snout and enlarged eyes laying there holding onto his ball was just too much to resist I had to try and capture this moment. I could almost hear him saying come on let’s play ball you know you want to. Looking into his eyes you were able to feel his excitement as some one approached and he was about to finally get some one to play ball with.
While a pure white Pekingese is not as rare as one might think they do not seem to be as common as the Pekinese which are blotched with black patches.
Puppies you just have to admire their attitudes and beauty.
