Charcoal wildlife drawingsare one of my favorite. whether it is a Deer, Elk, Bear, Cougar, Wolf they all have a special meaning to me and I enjoy capturing them in my drawings.
I have been an outdoors person all my life, and since having two failed back surgeries I am not able to roam the wilds of Idaho as much as I use to. Drawing the animals that I encountered over the years is a way for me to being able to get back to nature.
These are some of my Charcoal wildlife drawings as I have been able to capture their memories so enjoy.
I often find old photographs that I have taken and they remind me of the time I took them. Maybe I will be surfing the internet and come across a photo of and animal and it too triggers one of those memories of when I was watching the animal as they were out and about and I just have to draw it.
It is my hope that while viewing my drawings it will also trigger a special memory for you and bring you the joy and comfort that they do me. From a drawing of a Bull Elk as he steps from the trees during the early dawn and lets out with one of those unforgettable bugles, which takes me back in time to when I was out chasing that elusive trophy. Or maybe it is a photo of a wolf which for some reason seems to have mystical powers over me.
