A Western Heritage the Wild West Mustangs
The progressive charcoal drawings as I worked on “the Wild Mustangs” enjoy!
Once I have the Mustangs done to my liking I add the final touches by filling in the background
This drawing was completed on January 14th 2010. I have always enjoyed being around horses and the wild mustangs are no exception. The idea that these great animals are still able to roam freely should be and inspiration to us all. We can hope that they will be allowed to roam freely for the following generation to enjoy!
The charcoal drawing of the Wild Mustangs was drawn on a 14″ x 17″ 80# white sketch paper and is sealed with a matte finish to preserve the drawing as well as remove some of the glossy sheen that the charcoal develops as I blend in the tones. It took over 65 hours to complete as I worked on the drawing.
When I was getting ready to post this drawing to my website I got this Idea ” I wondered what this would look like if I took the Mustangs and embedded them onto a photograph” well see for yourselves what it looked like.
